Overview​

The Role resource in Valeiot defines the access control policies and permissions assigned to Users who log in to the Portal (e.g., portal.yourcompany.com). Roles determine what actions a user can perform, which resources they can access, and their level of interaction within the system.

Key Characteristics​

  • Permission Policies: Control access to Devices, Entities, Dashboards and User list.

Use Cases​

  • Define a Super Admin acccess: Set up a role like Admin (or any name you prefer) and grant complete access to the system's resources.
  • Define a Multi-Tenant access: Users with Front-desk role with access only to their assigned building.
  • Define an Apartment User access: Users with Apartment Owner role with access only to their assigned apartment within their buildings.
